Annie

She is energetic and a pleasure to work with!

It was a little tough getting this scheduled and we were able to make it work. We decided a city park would do as our backdrop for the shoot. Below you'll find the shots taken during the shoot. Such fun talking outdoor photograph with artificial light. Today, I just used one Alien Bee 800 withe a battery pack and umbrella modifier with grid.

It was tough light to shot with today and I struggled with some of the shots. There was a few with missed focus. It was a great shot however and I'm beginning to really enjoy shooting outdoor portraits.

Red Riding Hood

Tori.

When I originally embarked on this Red riding hood project, I envisioned long dark curls and shooting outdoors, however I just wasn't finding the look I was going for in some of the models that were interested in helping bring it to life. As luck would have it, a friend and fellow Photographer had a daughter that wanted some studio shots. I had the Red riding hood costume with me and without any expectations, we gave it a try.

From the moment she put the hood on, I knew I was on to something and after a few test shots I no longer needed to look any further than Tori! Below is the first processed shot, I took the shot in a dramatic direction with lots of vibrancy to bring it to life.

We continued with many different poses and played around with a fan to get the cape flowing, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do quite yet, however I knew I was going to do a composite. It took several tries to get the cape all the way out without affecting the hair. Below is the shot I choose for my first composite.

The finished composite image! It came together quite nicely and I was able keep all of my colors.

Another version, however I didn't spend nearly the time necessary to really blend the two together and too much time looking for just the right background to use. I intend on revisiting this later when winter releases its strangle hold on us!

A few more finished shots, with a little less processing.

We tried a few other poses after. Tori is a pleasure to work with!

Holly

Low key photography continued.

Holly is new to modeling and very friendly, it took a little while to get her comfortable with posing, but after a few test shots; she found her groove!

I am really loving this lighting set up. I started off with just a 7" reflector and honeycomb grid, but I just couldn't get the feel I wanted. I had two strip boxes behind about 10' away.

     The Processed shots.

     My Favorite of the series.

Selective color with tats! I love it!

     Strong and confident!

Holly was great fun to shot and a pleasure to get to know. Below you'll find the rest of the shots from the session. The received minimal processing.
